SuperAssets for Flickr Version 1.02 is now available and is required for all users to continue successfully using the plugin. In addition, it's the Flickr::API2 Perl module must be updated to version 2.08 or later. This update to Flickr::API2 is what enables SSL connections to be established.
]]> If you need our assistance in upgrading the plugin, please file a case with our helpdesk, or please engage us on Twitter, Facebook.]]>An issue has been created in our Github repository that will be updated as we continue to work on the update, Update SuperAssets for Flickr to Access Flickr API over SSL.

]]>After6 Services has upgraded its website to Movable Type 6. We will be testing all of our plugins and themes for compatibility.
]]>This version makes the name of the plugin consistent throughout the code and the documentation, and fixes a minor user interface problem in the Add SoundCloud Track dialog. It also changes the license underwhich the plugin is released from the BSD Two-Clause License to the MIT License.

About 50 people attended in the demo, sponsored by Six Apart, who is a Fueled Collective member. Six Apart provided lunch and gave away an iPad mini to an attendee who was selected in a raffle.
The Fueled space is really unique. It's one floor above the Foursquare offices, which gives you the sense that success in the social media space is all around you.

The Movable Type 5.2.6 upgrade contained a fix for a security vulnerability, and we would have characterized that upgrade as mandatory if a bug hadn't been identified soon after release.
If you want After6 to perform a Movable Type upgrade for you, please visit the Movable Type Upgrade Service page on our website.
If you are still using Movable Type 4.38, read on for our recommendation.
]]> Movable Type 4.38 users are reminded that this version will no longer be supported by Six Apart or After6 Services as of December 31, 2013. That's approximately six months from now.If you are still using Movable Type 4.38, After6 recommends replacing the Locale::Maketext Perl module contained in the extlib directory of Movable Type 4.38 with version 1.23 or later from CPAN or an equivalent trusted source. Before doing this, however, we recommend performing a backup of the Movable Type database and creating an archived copy of the Movable Type Application Directory.
If you assistance with patching Movable Type 4.38, please contact After6 Services at support@after6services.com.
]]>Because Promote This! has been around for 7+ years, it's present in a lot of older Movable Type 4 installations. After6 decided to update it because helped facilitate upgrades of customers' older Movable Type-based sites, and made it easier for these customers to stop Movable Type 4.
There are many alternatives to using Promote This! in new Movable Type projects. However, updating this plugin decreased the cost and increased the likelihood of completion of quite a few MT 4 to MT 5 upgrades.
]]>What's a Twitter Summary Card? That's the part of an embedded tweet that shows the introduction to a web page or a blog post.
Here's an example of a Twitter Summary Card attached to an embedded tweet, from one of the recent posts on OperationGadget.com:

]]> We think Twitter Cards are as important to driving Twitter click-throughs as Open Graph Meta Data is on Facebook. If you need help getting features like these working on your site, let us work with you on it.
It isn't difficult to implement a Twitter Summary Card on a Movable Type-based single blog website, but when you start scaling up the number of blogs, the number of authors, and so on, you start needing features of Movable Type Pro or Movable Type Advanced.
For example, according to the current documentation for a Twitter Summary Card, you can have Twitter accounts representing:
These elements of a Twitter card can be hard-coded in the simplest case where a site has a single blog written by a single author. But multiple authors need a field associated with the author's identity in Movable Type where the author's personal Twitter account ID can be stored.
Similarly, a Movable Type instance representing multiple "sites" (which may actually relate to blogs or websites in the Movable Type 5 and 6 data models) need a field associated with either the blog or the site itself within the Movable Type schema, so those Twitter accounts have a place to be stored.
The best practices for all of the more complex use cases described above require custom fields at the author and blog levels. When you need this capability, After6 recommends a solution based on Movable Type Pro or Movable Type Advanced.
After6 can help implement Twitter Summary Cards and other Twitter Cards on your Movable Type-based site. If you want our assistance, please contact us at customer.service [at] after6services.com.
If you are a developer or more technical user of Movable Type and you are doing your own implementation of Twitter Cards, we would love to keep discussing these issue with you. Please leave a comment here or Tweet us @after6services.
]]>SuperAssets for Flickr allows you to easily select Flickr photos to include in entries and pages that you publish with Movable Type. SuperAssets for Flickr automatically stores links to the Flickr photos you select so that they are available in the Movable Type Asset Manager and accessible by standard Movable Type Asset Manager tags.
For more information about the SuperAssets series of plugins, visit the Plugins section of After6Services.com.
]]>UnrecognizedTags identifies all Movable Type Markup Language tags that Movable Type currently doesn't recognize.
With it, you can identify unrecognized tags throughout an entire Movable Type instance. In other words, it will identify unrecognized tags in all websites and blogs published by Movable Type, and also any unrecognized tags found in Global Templates.
So, if you need to know where all occurences are of tags produced that plugin you are removing because it's not MT 5-compatible, UnrecognizedTags is for you.
UnrecognizedTags 0.7 was pushed on to Github on Thursday. This version:
We're still testing on different versions of MT, and if there are any fixes that need to go in, we'll publish them as soon as possible.
